There is no planet B. The importance of creating a more sustainable world has become increasingly evident, and as a small independent fashion retailer, we recognise our responsibility to contribute. The fashion industry has faced scrutiny for its environmental impact, and we believe it is crucial that we adapt and prioritise sustainability by making responsible choices in every aspect of our business.
What We Have Changed
In 2018, we made a significant change by introducing brands that prioritise a green approach to production. These brands utilise recycled materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, lyocell, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ and are a part of the Better Cotton Initiative Program. By partnering with these brands, we are able to offer products that are not only stylish but also environmentally conscious.
To align with our commitment to sustainability, we focus on carefully sourcing products that are made with the utmost consideration for the planet. We are actively working to reduce our carbon footprint by supporting British manufacturing and local craftsmanship. We work with brands who share our values and adhere to ethical and fair labour practises. By supporting ethical manufacturing, we are contributing to a more sustainable and equitable global supply chain.
Additionally, we have implemented measure to minimise waste and promote recycling. We strive to use minimal plastic packaging and in-stead opt for recyclable and biodegradable options including paper bags, recycled tissue paper and seeded paper tags. By reducing packaging, we minimise the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and oceans.

We are proud to have introduced our own label, which embodies our commitment to sustainability. This collection includes locally, and UK made product that is full of organic and vegan friendly ingredients and is packaged using recycled paper and glass. By creating our own collection of eco-friendly products, we have a clearer insight into the production process, ensuring that every step aligns with our green promise. Giving our customers the opportunity to shop with a clear conscience.
Furthermore, we are dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of sustainability in our industry and believe in the power of community and collaboration. We have built our own pre-loved Facebook group that allows our customers to buy or sell pre-owned itsy Bitsy items. By making these changes within our brand we aim to inspire others to join us in creating a more environmentally conscious society.
